剧情简介
生活在中国西部山区的美丽羌族姑娘尔玛，18岁那年和镇上裁缝多巴订了婚，多巴的父母经常去尔玛家催婚，希望尔玛能早点嫁到他们家，尔玛的父母每次征求尔玛的意见，尔玛总是推辞。原来尔玛爱上了镇小学教英语的汉族老师刘大川。刘大川虽然家境贫寒，但姑姑是县教育局副局长，自然有很多追求者。可是刘大川偏偏喜欢羌族少女尔玛。尔玛的父母尊重尔玛的选择，两家人见面后商定当年十月一日举行婚礼。大川的姑姑见了尔玛后，非常满意，许诺说等大川和尔玛结婚后，要把尔玛安排到县里小学当一名音乐老师，并且还要在县城为他俩举行一场热热闹闹的婚礼。
婚事临近，尔玛父母提出让尔玛按羌族风俗举办婚礼，为此尔玛和大川有了分歧，大川很为难。
十月一日，婚礼照常举行，只不过在哪里举行，大川和尔玛都面临着一个痛苦的选择――――

Synopsis
Erma, a beautiful Qiang girl, lives in the mountain areas of Western China. She was engaged to Duoba, a tailor from the local town when she was 18 years old. Duoba’s family often visited Erma’s family to proceed with the wedding and get Erma to marry their son as soon as possible. However, Erma always rejected the request.

It was because Erma had fallen in love with Liu Dachuan, an English teacher from the local town school. Liu Dachuan’s aunt is the deputy director general of the Education Bureau of the County. So, many girls fancied Liu Dachuan although Liu’s family was quite poor. However, Liu Dachuan only loved the Qiang girl, Erma. Erma’s parents respected Erma’s choice and both families were happy and decided to have their wedding on 1st October (Chinese National Day). Dachuan’s aunt was very pleased with Erma and promised to arrange Erma to become a music teacher in a county primary school after they got married. Most importantly, Dachuan’s aunt wanted to organize a big wedding for them in the county. However, Erma and her parents wanted to have this wedding in their village according to Qiang custom. Dachuan couldn’t agree with Erma about this wedding plan which upset them a lot.

On 1st October, the wedding would still go on but wherever this wedding would be, both Dachuan and Erma would have a difficult choice of their lives…
